Dancetalk.info

About Us

whispering4We have created Dancetalk.info for the purpose of promoting, sharing and celebrating dance in all its forms. We want this site to be a place for dancers of all levels and styles to ‘meet’, learn, chat and discover the “who, what, where and when” of dance and give them a tool for networking. We intend to post and promote events, schools and performances – everything – taking place in NY, LA and PR and encourage  the world to share there comments, reviews and discussions on topics related to dance. To achieve this goal, Xavier Marzan and I are inviting everyone involved with dance, in whatever form, to subscribe to Dancetalk.info.

Now, that we’ve given you a brief summary of what we are about, it’s time for YOU to ‘talk’.  Let us know about your events, shows, ideas, schools, etc. and we’ll fully promote them.

If you are at all interested in our idea or interested in photos being taken of your event, please contact us at: dancetalkinfo@gmail.com

We look forward to hearing from you and our working together.

Xavier Marzan Bio

Xavier Marzan was born in New York City and raised mostly in Puerto Rico. He is a Jen&X in Miami_2classically trained ballet dancer who studied at Julian E. Blanco of Classical Ballet in Santurce, Puerto Rico, and was a member of Ballet Classico, Ballet de San Juan, Puerto Rico, and the School of American Ballet in New York, among others. He has performed in many productions both in New York and Puerto Rico. In 1998, his ballet career was cut short because of an injury. Not willing to give up dancing, Xavier began taking ballroom and hip hop classes, which led him to become an instructor of modern dances — Latin in particular — specializing in cha cha, rumba and dance technique. He has taught at Arthur Murray Dance Studios and at Soho Dance Studio in New York. Xavier’s passion for making dance, especially Latin dances, a multi-generational interest — staying modern and current while still keeping the classic elements alive — was the inspiration for creating this Web site, which is meant to be a hub of dance information and a networking site for artists and dancers.
Xavier is currently teaching out of several studios, teaching latin dances and swing and is a certified Zumba instructor.

Nanette Fuentes’ Bio

nf4Nanette Fuentes was born and raised in New York City, and was captivated by dance and photography from an early age. Fascinated with the camera, she studied photography throughout her schooling but eventually chose to pursue other artistic avenues, like acting, instead. Then a couple of years ago, Nanette decided to learn salsa, which quickly became an addiction. The vibrant colors and joyful movement of the dance soon brought her back to her first love…photography. She decided that honing her photographic skills and recording the beauty of salsa would be her next challenge. Connecting with Xavier again (he was one of her dance instructors) has provided her with the opportunity to study and record all types of dance, and to share its beauty and joy with others.
